After watching a Sid Snot MPEG from Chain’s server I remembered this classic of Kenny Everetts:

I managed to get the mp3 player to work in IE as you may see. But it will not autoplay in IE as it does in Firefox, in IE you need to click play, I would like it to load the playlist but wait for someone to press play before it plays any tunes, this maybe possible. Although I’m going to turn the autoplay off as it will make loading the page slow for people with dial-up connections to the internet. Also now have a nice gap in the sidebar!
1 hour later…
HAHA…. It doesn’t work does it!!! Well I’m going to go and batter my head against a brick wall for an hour or two.

An interesting point was brought to my attention today, the fact that the mollecular structure of an atom could be influenced by the mere perception of it. A bit like connecting a volt meter across the a resistive circuit, the (high) resistance of the meter will affect the value of the final measurement. This is delving into quantum theory just a bit, I need to brush up before I go any deeper. But this analogy backs up my fore-reasoning of what I considered to be the fundamentals of human conciousness and the structure of the society and surroundings that we have created and are accustomed to in our everyday lives. A thought is, in itself, a reality, whether is be a daydream or a hallucination, or the thoughts of a visionary engineer, the fact that it has been perceived by the human brain (which is complicated beyond our understanding) makes it actual.

Steve and Julie are off to foreign climbs, the thing I really respect about their decision is that it is mostly spontaneous and also the, “You only live once!” attitude that Steve admirably harbours. Their leaving party was at the Windsor Tavern last night and there was quite a turn out, met up with some old freinds including James Watts of all people who I have not seen for a L O N G time and he’s still as ugly as ever (only kidding of course…I still couldn’t bring myself to ask him to do a tortoise impression though). Julian Binks looking well, Lee Watson who I’m sure isn’t too affable or amiable with me as I used to fancy his wife! (before they were together). Forgot how sweet Julie is and what a lucky man Steve is, who was proudly showing off photographs of his son playing football and rightly so. I felt very Single throughout the night as everyone had their partners along with them and I was kinda towing along behind most of the time. Have some photo’s that I will upload later if they came out ok.
I’ve just learned something quite interesting, the term for annoying emails “SPAM”, originates from the Monty Python Sketch in which a restaurant serves all its food with lots of spam, and the waitress repeats the word several times in describing how much spam is in the dishes served on the menu. When she does this, a group of Vikings (don’t ask) in the corner start singing:
“Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, lovely spam! Wonderful spam!”
Please! No pretentious comments!
