It’s a beautiful November morning, a little warmer than it should be but hey everybody deserves a car and a holiday right? I am in contemplation mode, wondering what change I need to make to create a new path into the future, I never really had goals in life either long or short term, just living day to day and riding the tide of misfortune. Maybe that’s it, I should create a goal? Many of my interests have withered, my space has shrunk and many of my tools are in storage, it’s true to say I never did take any of the opportunities presented to me in the past to flourish and use what was at hand to my own advantage. Should I revitalise anything from the past or maybe learn something new maybe more physical? Should I move somewhere else? As long as I have a comfortable space at the end of the day, I have never been attached particularly to any of the buildings I have lived in, except my home from when I was child on the Isle of Wight, but that wasn’t just a building it was where my family lived, I felt safe and secure. Ultimately, I have no idea what goal to set, all I know is it cannot be too far into the future, at least not with Putin and all his willy waving of late.

“Severe storm warnings have been issued by the Met Office as fears grow that Hurricane Katia could hit Britain bringing gale force winds, flooding and transport chaos.” – Rings out the Daily Telegraph on Friday 9th September.
I’m looking back to “The Great Storm” of 1987, called so because it wasn’t a hurricane, it just had hurricane force winds from time to time and it didn’t form from a tropical cyclone, it formed from a depression in the Bay of Biscay, warnings however, were somewhat muted, especially the previous evening’s weather report from Michael Fish famously slamming down callers who were asking if a Hurricane was coming. One thing I do remember clear as day, is my Mum going shopping a couple of weeks before the storm, when she returned she told me of an old lady who was tightening her stockings with a sixpence coin as my Nan apparently used to, she approached my Mum in a queue of people mumbling, she told her that her son in Scotland had telephoned her and told her to ‘batten down the hatches’ as a storm was coming. The oddity of the circumstances of how my Mum received this information and then told me as soon as she got home, bolsters my beliefs that things are not what they seem.
I reckon it might get a bit windy with some rain…that is all.

Wahey!!!! It’s Saturday! The only ‘Waheyness’ about that is I don’t have to go to work. Been a funny week, Ava’s been in and out of hospital and I ended up having a couple of days off so there goes the rent… Garden looks more like a meadow, been thinking about getting another job as I’m fed up to the back teeth of servicing in Hastings. Unless the commercial picks up I will be offski. Bit boring really but there you go.

Been servicing at Sussex Downs College this week, my first Commercial venture with Booker & Best and I’m slightly dismayed at the lack of professionalism. With other companies I have worked for there has been a dedicated tray, usually screwed to the wall in the plant room containing the appliance specifications, service instruction book and record of previous service visits but there are none. The enigineer I have worked with who has done all previous servicing has missed a lot of contraventions to the regulations, which makes it difficult for me to identify without making him look incompetent. One included an open flued unit heater in a wood workshop which contained a large dust extraction system, not only was there was no purpose designed ventilation for the heater but when I mentioned we should test the flue with the extraction system on, the other engineer proclaimed he had never thought of that before! Even so it seemed to work… bizarrely. All in all though it’s been a good week and it has made a change not traipsing from house to house in crappy Hastings.
The photo is a 30 yr old 2,000,000BTU boiler (that’s over half a million watts in laymans terms) heating Park College.

During this week off we’ve decorated the living room, sitting in it tonight has been cozy. This bubble however is always transparent as I keep in touch with world events and my security is somewhat frail, this is a troubled existence we inhabit and I am convinced now, more than ever, that time is precious, and all that my dark and enquiring mind has manisfested in the past will soon come to fruition.
I feel somehow I should be making plans for survival, but ends are meant to be met and if they are not I will fall, but unfortunately that obyss is inevitable, should I change my tactics?
I remember a story about Black, Red and Yellow ants. The back ants would fight the Red almost to the death, and when all their resources had been exhausted, from over the hill came the mighty army of yellow ants.
Look at us (NATO), squandering our resources in Libya while the UN dither, the UN’s 5 permanant members include China and Russia both of whom are on the fence, China has even been exposed to being a third party in exchange of nuclear information between North Korea and Iran, two more hot spots.
Russia now, is the product of post Cold War Soviet Union, full of ex KGB agents twiddling their thumbs. Needless to say corruption is on a collosal scale and ‘The Russian Mafia’ have superceded the Italians as the Godfathers and is on the tip of the lips of many nations.
With their procrastination it could be easily hidden that a nuclear deal is underway. It has been prophecised that the fisrt nuclear attack of WW3 would be in the Meditteranean, by a coastal rogue state, Syria? Libya? Israel? (the only one with nukes atm).
This would practically iniahilate NATO and clear the way for Russia or maybe China who have a big economic interest in Africa, as we do Lybia hence all the current paraphenalia.
These thoughts arent just a copy and paste from media, they are the life long assumptions from someone who has had a somewhat irrational thought process at times, entwined with an insane desire to know what the facts are (as apposed to Tabloids or Celebrity) and a collaboration of spiritual and real down to earth feelings and an ‘out the bubble approach.’ Maybe we will live in peace forever? Who Knows.

Wahey Bank Holiday!!! Although I was supposed to be on call I wangled it off by conspiring with a fellow engineer… Sorted 😉
Anyway now I’m moving stuff around on the PC, backing up some recent stuff for when I upgrade…hahaha! With money the way it is, that is a slight falicy. What to do today, hmmmmm… I’m going to dissapear into the woods for a while and organise a few things to get done next week, I am off work you see…For 5 Days!!! WOOHOO!
Would love to set a radio up but with no one on the other end any more it seems a bit like my energies could be put to better use in other areas, regrettably. I have mentioned the idea to Lisa that she could do the Novice course, which wouldn’t take a long time and is relatively easy, but she just isn’t interested, which is fair enough.
At times though I do get the feeling I am having my personailty sapped from my soul while all my interests are dispersing and becoming diluted in the way things are. I guess it’s up to me to get up again and soldier on regardless, getting back to the gym will help, so will staying on diet. All stuff for my list.

Off to work soon…WooHoo!!! I love tromping round a town full of druggies in and out of council shitpits up to my elbows in chip fat and cat litter! I completed my Commercial Gas Training so I could get away from this, I’m guessing all this weeks work was booked last week anyhow and they may wait for my certificates before letting me loose on an industrial scale, so I’m happy to wait… for a bit.
Still hasn’t rained yet, 6.1mm on my rain guage since the end of March and we had the driest April on record, not great for my Antirhynums, anyway must go and wade my way through Hastings ensuring people are safe and unlikely to die from carbon-monoxide poisoning so they can instead contract botulism, diphtheria & aids.

I keep logging in and starting to write a post then giving up, so this time I am determined to complete this. Currently waiting for a phone call from ‘Transport’ a division of the company I work for that look after all the shitty vans they have, because mine has broken down again! The last time it wouldn’t go into reverse gear so I took it into their workshop, while I was there two other broken down vans arrived. Later in the day I had to give up my replecement van because one of their Transits’ radiators had blown up. I sometimes wonder if it’s economically viable to buy old shitty high milage vans and respray them rather than fleet hire. I’m also fed up of changing vans as now I have no idea where any of my stock is and my tools are all over the shop.
Right I’m off to clear it out, the recovery guy has just rung and is on his way…woohoo!

Throwing out the feelers and all is calm as I peruse possibilities of hidden disturbances in the darkness of our space, I sense nothing. Whether that’s good or bad I am yet to find out. I spent a fantastic evening with Lisa at the Hertsmonceaux Observatory on an open evening in conjunction with BBC’s stargazing events, although it was cloudy and saw little in the way of cellestial embodiments, we did open up one of the domes and spin it around, I also met some amateur radio guys who adorned a radio telescope and we listened to the magnetic flux of Jupiter and one of it’s moons IO, the latter of which we slowed down by 100 times and it sounded mysterious beyond comprehension, another station was on 144.800MHz, a well known packet frequency linking amateur weather stations across the south, getting my interest uprising again. We then dissapeared for dinner at the Treacle Mine. I must make a point of getting out more, especially in the best of company minus the inane racket of childhood enthusiasm.

2.30am and unable to sleep, so got up and had a cuppa tea. Productive day around the house(flat) managed to arrange the living room slightly better, had a general clear up. Visit to the gym and devised an upper body circuit routine including abs and obliques which I will keep up, along with some leg presses working the hip abductors, quadriceps and gluteus muscles. I certainly feel I am toning already after just 3 weeks 🙂 I’m back to work from Monday and I’m hoping my busy days will give me plenty of exercise as frankly, aerobic exercising at the gym is bloody mind numbing, I much prefer cycling or a brisk walk outdoors. Spoke to an Amercan fella in the health suite who is a Vietnam veteran, turns out he is on Warfarin and has several complaints due to a chemical accidentally(?) sprayed on troops, interesting bloke.
Well it’s 3am, am I tired yet? Not really… more tea 🙂
