Well it’s Thursday today and it has been since…this morning really, not bad day today, was appointed to sort out some other engineers cock up today, the area manager said send me as I’m a good plumber? Didn’t quite get this as he hasn’t seen me plumb, unless he had a chat with Terry on the Isle of Wight who I used to work for, other than that I can’t really think why he said it, unless somebody has left the lid off the Evo Stick on his desk! Err yeah! So! Local…ish jobs tomorrow, Polegate, Lewes and this poxy one up in Crawley, need to change an Essex Flange on a cylinder but have to get the old one off, thinking of borrowing a disc grinder…any offers?

Home at a reasonable time, was just about to get stuff ready for gym and my Uncle popped round to send an email and then started wafflin on about selling some books on ebay, anyway got shot of him and went to gym, feeling a little fitter now though still a fat bastard but I’ll keep at it.

This morning I heard some guys very faintly on 145.700Mhz which is a 2 meter repeater frequency and had a go at breaking in, I was invited into the conversation and it turns out they were on the Oxford repeater, so the linear is working well, I made up a patch lead earlier so I could put a power meter in line and measured 150Watts, the matching isn’t quite spot on and I assume that the it’ll be more in the region of 130Watts, still afraid I’m going to melt the antenna though. Had a waffle yesterday with Chain on USB (upper sde-band) and was quite impressed with clarity. The old fella hasn’t been about today, apparently he shouted me earlier but I woulda been in Worthing and out of reach. God knows whats happened to him, I suppose he may have been eaten by an elephant whilst walking the dog on the downs…
