Mid-week Mayhem.

May 31st, 2006

Monday I felt really kinda strange…Dunno why. Evening we did a surprise 40th birthday for Graham my bro, was pretty ok, drank beer, ate food, drank some more beer, played some tunes, drank some Bushmills. Tuesday found it hard to get outa bed, but did and off to work, had a meeting at The Bull Inn at Orpington I thought was 1o’clock and turned out to be 3pm, so I went shopping in Asda. Arrived back at the pub for 2.30pm and loadsa guys had already turned up and the beer started flowing. The Manager guys who were taking the meeting were an hour late so more beer…Finally piled into a log cabin in the garden and the meeting began amidst a constant rotation of tuna and cress sandwiches and cheesey biscuits. Turns out they are changing the bonus scheme, I wasn’t really paying attention. Back to the bar afterwards and Mick the area manager got his wallet out and the beer began flowing once again. So this morning (wed) I couldn’t get up again and eventually hauled my fat arse from beneath the duvet and initiated what was going to be a really crap day. Worthing first call, 3 car pile up on A27, A27 closed so I sat in a queue of traffic for an hour doing paperwork, when I finally got to Worthing I couldn’t actually do anything as there was no Gas Meter, so I gleefully hopped back into the van whistling a merry tune as at that point I was soooo happy and content. So up A23 to Croydon…stopped for a spot of lunch at Pease Pottage, my watch I left in the bogs on Friday had not been handed in either, not that I was expecting it to have been knowing what a bunch of thieving bastards people are these days. Back on the road 80 mph on the M23 and an old fella in a peugeot thinks it’d be fun to try driving through the crash barrier up the grass verge and flip the car over 3 times, this was really quite scary. As usual as the poor old guy was sprawled across front seats bleeding to death as everybody just drove by pointing, only me and one other guy bothered to stop to check up the old geezer, as it was he was conscious and able to move though he didn’t attempt anything and just lay there bleeding all over the passenger seat. Once the Police arrive a quick explanation of the situation and I buggered off. The irony of the situation is that the old fella was off to visit his wife in hospital, there were flowers scattered all over the car that I assumed were a very nice bunch before he decided to become a gerriatric stunt driver, I didn’t notice any grapes though.

Anyway dropped some calls today as really couldn’t be arsed so will probabaly get a bollocking tomorrow but hey.Got a linear amp for my 2 meter radio to boost the output power from 15 to 110Watts, quite a good buy by the looks of it, one problem though, the power supply isn’t man enough for the job so need to sort something out there, it can pull 18 Amps apparently!

Hopefully tomorrow I will be feeling better and actually get some work done, if I finish at a reasonable hour, which looks possible, I’ll be up the gym i evening.
