Life’s a Song
November 30th, 2008
Existence has a kind of hum to it, a bit like a tuning fork, a background frequency that all that exists hangs off of. Everything abides to natures being, everything goes with the flow… except us! Society in itself has disfigured, too many people are just wrong, the harmony that is essential in our unification with the root chord of nature is off key. Unfortunately the trend is set to get worse, I am not a doom mongerer, I am a realist! I have always been confused by people with big ideas for the future, which in itself is not a bad thing, but I always aspire to the inevitable, the society that has evolved around us is fracturing and will collapse. That melody that once sang out in my years of innocence has faded into the distance, with only an occasional echo in times of felicity. But everyday I strive pointlessly to get it all back in tune…

I think as we grow older we become more single minded and coupled with the realisation that everything is not easy to achieve or attain we settle for second best.
When we are younger we set targets like get a car, get a house, get drunk every Saturday. As these are targets we could never achieve as a kid, of course once we get them we make new targets, but over time we become distracted and settle for simpler targets, which leads to a downward spiral as we go through the same motions day in day out.
This is strangely a rule setup by society that over a certain age we become “responsible” when in fact we just stagnate. What worryie me is this feeling is more and more becoming the norm, less people concern themselves with what they can achieve and mull over opportunity lost.
I’m just as bad as the rest though, I have achieved my goals and need to make new ones and move on, perhaps this is why upper class people always “seem” more stable as they just want to be *rich* which is something you always have to work at? But more likely they can’t think out side the box society has made for them.
So chin up make some outlandish goals and go for it !

Hey and just a thought but shouldn’t the title be “Lifes a tune”? as song implies singing and jumping around like big apes or dancing showing your buttocks to the camera (yes ok ahem)..
Oh well.. nothing to see move along..

A song has lyrics that have some meaning… I get your point, but I feel “song” is the better… Thoughtful comment by the way, thank you.

Well I was just going to write “arse” and leave it as that but for some reason you extreme use of the syllabus turned my mere offhand comment into the extremes of a wordsmith such as yourself.
Actually thinking along those lines why not write a self help book your style would make it easy reading and give you something to do?

And no that was not me being sarcastic (for a change I’ll admit) but it is none the less true, you have a very easy to read way with words.
You could try a self help website maybe?
But what do I know.. I’m just a sarcastic old twat.
