Is it possible for your neurons to rearrange overnight? If so, I can sleep in peace knowing that it’s not at all weird to go to bed with positive plans and ambitions for the following day’s activities, only to wake the following morning feeling like going on a balloon ride over the Himalayas. One thing I know people can rely on me for is my unpredictability, but it doesn’t really help me much, I can try and think of a way of putting my unreliability into a positive perspective but anything that involves routine, strict time-keeping, or meeting deadlines I eventually find excruciatingly tedious beyond the realms of the imagination. One thing I am actually doing at the moment is sticking to my PKU diet (a diet in which if I eat over a certain amount of protein, creates a chemical imbalance in my brain and can cause all the effects I seem to display) which is unrelenting in tedium, but tends to give me a more steady mood and an ability to concentrate better, we’ll see what the longer term benefits will be the future.

I’m thinking of going out for a walk, it’s absolutely hammering down with gusts of 45 mph and getting windier. It’s not new for me venture out in these extremes, if ever there’s a massive thunderstorm looming, I jump in the car and head for the downs, I even went out at 4am during the peak of the 1987 hurricane which although was very exciting, got bit scarey. I was unable to reach the beach to witness the swell as the spray was phenominal. As I headed home, I was being sandblasted by dust from the road (yes there was no rain!) and I had to seek refuge in a bus shelter.

I’ve been pondering why there are so many different meanings for the word “Poky!” (also Pokey).
*Confined
*Smelly
*Powerful
*Slow
*Shabby
*Someone who…pokes a lot?
*Prison (Pokey) american
You could own a shabby car that has plenty of torque but is slow, is small inside and stinks a bit.
Or that’s poky and poky but a bit poky and inside is poky and poky.
For some reason an old Tractor owned by an incontinent Farmer came to mind then?

Put it this way: if you eat nothing but oranges for 6 hours, and then go for a piss, does it smell like you’re an idiot?

“The present life of man, O king, in comparison of that time which is unknown to us, like the swift flight of the sparrow through the room wherein you sit at supper in winter, with your commanders and ministers and a good fire in the midst, while the storms of rain and snow prevail abroad; the sparrow, I say, flying in at one door and immediately out another, whilst he is within, is safe from the wintry storm; but after a short space of fair weather, he immediately vanishes out of sight into the dark winter from which he had emerged. So this life of man appears for a short space, but what of went before or what is to follow, we are utterly ignorant.”
This is the image of a man’s life through the thoughts and cognition of Venerable Bede (c673-735), the flight of a sparrow through the warmth and light of a great hall and back into the blizzard has troubled thinkers for centuries. What depresses me is that I don’t eat “supper” in a great banqueting hall, I usually sit in a confined room, on a chair that hurts my bum with it on my lap. As for the sparrow, the most prolific domineers of the sky where I live are Bloody Seagulls! So my updated Bede analogy would be: Life is basically a seagull taking a cumbersome passage through my room at dinner time (greedily swallowing as much as possible on its course) and back out into the putrid effluent of the atmosphere beyond my window where it belongs.
Have been considering forming a new group: The Society for the Pointless Promotion of Pessimism.
